Discussions on the so called Verse of Rajm (Stoning):

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

This discussion was between me and a sister, FR. It is known that the punishment for an adulterer is a hundred lashes.

(As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement. (Holy Qur'an 24:2)

Qur'an does not specifically say whether this punishment is to be given to a married person or unmarried person. However, it is known from the teachings of the Prophet of Allah (SAW) that the above verse refers to unmarried persons and for married persons he (SAW) prescribed stoning to death who commits adultery. There are, however, some traditions that talk about alleged verse of Rajm implying that the practice of stoning was part of the Qur'an and some how it was missed during the compilation of the Holy Qur'an, hence the discussion. In this discussion the sister will be referred to as FR and  myself as MAR:
