Preface By Mohammad A Rahman The events of September 11, 2001 had changed everything in general. Muslims who are living in the U.S. face ever challenging situations. However, some good came out of it too. Muslims had an opportunity to talk to non-Muslims, visit their schools, churches, etc. Muslims themselves had to study their own books to answer many questions posed by non-Muslims. I work in a company that employs about eighty thousands employees. One of my colleagues hosts a monthly television show, Christian Lifestyles. He contacted me to be his guest on the TV program to talk about similarities of Islam and Christianity. This show went pretty well. However, he invited me for a second show. Fearing that this would be challenging, I started to prepare myself as much as I could. I was familiar with Gospel of Barnabas. But never did I take the time to study it. So, thinking that it might help me in the TV program, I started studying it. Fortunately, I was familiar with the Holy Qur’an well. I guess I was too overjoyed reading the Gospel of Barnabas. It was in so many respects closer to the teachings of the holy Qur’an that I started taking good notes. It helped me a great deal in the TV show. I also mentioned my findings in the Gospel of Barnabas to my Muslim friends. They suggested that I write a book about this showing the similarities between Qur’an and Gospel of Barnabas. However, working a full time job, three kids and many other activities, it was indeed difficult to squeeze out time to write it. However, on my wife’s insistence, I had to make time to complete this. It is our only hope the almighty God will accept this humble effort from us. Sincerely, -Mohammad Aminur Rahman May 17, 2003 Portland, OR, USA. |
